Courses for persons in charge of medical care in Denmark
The Centre for Maritime Health Service offers medical treatment courses to Danish and foreign seafarers, from both the merchant and the fishing fleet. Furthermore, we offer individually arranged courses, for example first aid courses with maritime contents.
The Centre has a vision of creating the world's best maritime health service and is the first place in the world where seafarers are taught by means of simulating patients. The basis of our courses is to provide the seafarer with the best possible competences within the field of "Medical care at sea".
The teaching is based on practical exercises and the use of medical equipment that is mandatory on board ships today. Thus, the teaching has been arranged so that the major part of the course is carried out in accordance with the "hands-on" principle.
